Introduction to Linguistic Validation of Patient-Reported Outcomes

Seminar description

With increasing pharma, regulatory, and public interest in Real-World Evidence, the use of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs), particularly Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs), is on the rise. They provide valuable information that can impact the validity of a clinical trial. For global clinical trials, PROs must undergo a rigorous iterative process called linguistic validation.

While medical translators often deal with patient-facing materials, namely informed consent forms and questionnaires, linguistic validation goes beyond producing accurate translations. It entails a patient-centered approach, a deep cultural understanding, and straight collaboration with the authors or in-country experts.

In this webinar, we will go through the multiple steps involved in linguistic validation to ensure that the translation conveys the same meaning as the original source content and is properly adapted to the target population.

Lecturer

Ana Sofia Correia is an English to Portuguese translator and language consultant based in Portugal. With over twelve years of experience, she specializes in the translation of clinical trial materials and linguistic validation of Clinical Outcome Assessments for Life Sciences companies and Clinical Research Organizations. For wire-transfers, bank account data are shown once the wire-transfer option is selected. The system will automatically issue a confirmation email upon registration, and a completion email once funds effectively arrive in Tremédica’s bank account.

Registration timeline: Registration is open until January 28, 2020 at noon CET.

Invoices: All invoices will be issued and emailed within 24 hours after webinar completion, along with the attendance certificate as applicable and any other relevant information.

Registration in Zoom y and webinar room link: Two days before the webinar, an email containing the Zoom registration link will be sent to all registered individuals. Upon registration in Zoom, the platform will automatically send the room’s URL for the actual webinar.

Additional information: This seminar will grant 2 continued education points (CEP) for the American Translators Association certification program.
